Artwork: Edinburgh Castle

To celebrate the end of my stay in Scotland, I let go my fantasy vision of the Edinburgh Castle that, being visible from my workplace, inspired my imagination more than once.

I didn’t paint much recently so to get back to work I had fun imagining what a marsupilami comic book cover would look like if published in 2019.
New shader: sunset on the sea
2019-06-30 23:47 - Technical
In this new graphics experiment in Unity, I wanted to create a sunset on the sea, with an animated sea rendered in real time.
New shader: sketch effect
2019-06-18 00:59 - Technical
For this new graphics experiment in Unity, I wanted to create an effect that would look like a real sketch on paper. I tried the effect on a X-Wing model that I created in Blender but it could as well be tested on a complete scene.
I tried Unity ShaderLab

Unity allows the programmers to write their custom shaders to create advanced
visual effects. I had fun and tried to imagine what a screen on the dashboard
of a TIE fighter might look like, according to the screens that we can see
in the Star Wars saga.
Shader: Elephants on Parade (Dumbo)
2019-06-01 22:22 - Technical
I got the idea for this shader while talking to colleagues about ShaderToy. I wanted to re-create the whole sequence but that’s too much work and very redundant (and it would probably require too much memory for a single ShaderToy entry). So I decided to create just this single shot.
New shader: Star Wars jump to lightspeed
2019-05-22 00:40 - Technical
Just a quick update to show you my last shader created on ShaderToy: the jump to lightspeed effect in Star Wars.
I gave ShaderToy a try

If you have some knowledge of computer-generated imagery, you have probably heard about ShaderToy. This tool is the sandbox of graphics developers, a huge collection of user-added shaders, i.e programs intended to generate an image.
I finally gave the tool a try.
Ludum Dare #44: my entry
2019-04-29 21:14 - Events
Last weekend it was the Ludum Dare game jam: the idea is to create a game in one weekend on a given theme. Like in multiple of the previous editions, I took part in the event and spent my weekend working on shipping a game in 48 hours.
Still life (my progress in digital painting)
2019-03-17 22:25 - Pencil strokes
This still life took me a whole afternoon of work. It made me work on colors, shadows, textures. I’m quite happy with the pear and the waterpot but not with the grapes. I don’t master reflective materials yet (nor specular lighting).

Since students from INSA Lyon, during their exchange year in Dublin, took part in the Irish Collegiate Programming Contest, it has been a tradition to send teams from INSA Lyon to participate in the Irish competition.
C++ in French with french-cpp
2019-02-25 23:47 - Technical
You’ve always wanted to program in French? Now it is possible in C++ thanks to my header-only library french-cpp. How simple it has become to program with the most beautiful language in the world (French I mean, not C++) :)
